About the Book

This book was inspired after I read and then watched The Secret and mine and my husband’s desires to enrich our children’s lives with what we’ve learned about ourselves in the last few years.  Our hope is that over time, it will, in some small way, make up for all the mistakes we made in raising them.

We all know kids don’t come with instruction manuals and the adults raising them are generally laden with their fair share of emotional baggage when they start. Gordon and I appeared to have brought in a few extra loads of baggage!  We were also striving to understand the interworkings of a ‘blended’ family.  While we struggled in our journey to shed old baggage and begin learning to live our lives authentically (a true work-in-progress), we continue to learn alot about ourselves.  Some of what we’ve learned could have made a huge difference in our lives and the lives of our children had we known from the beginning.

So this is about ‘paying that forward’ so others have an opportunity to ‘learn the lessons’ earlier than we did!
